A disturbing break-in and assault in Rockville, Maryland, last month has led to the arrest of a man, now charged with the rape of a minor, amid fears from law enforcement that there could be additional victims. Eric Bacon, 33, is facing charges of first-degree rape and burglary after allegedly invading a home on Frederick Road and attacking a young individual who had just returned from school.
Montgomery County Police have disclosed, per reports from NBC Washington, that the incident took place on April 24. The juvenile was sexually assaulted around 3 p.m., soon after coming home. Bacon is then suspected of pilfering property from the residence and remaining in the vicinity, as discovered by the victim's brother almost four hours later, according to a separate account by WTOP.
Eric Bacon's apprehension occurred two days following the incident during a routine patrol on April 26. Law enforcement officials found Bacon nine blocks from the original crime scene, in the 15900 block of Frederick Road.
With the suspect now in custody, local authorities expressed concern that there could be more individuals who have fallen prey to Bacon's alleged actions.
