A grim tale of theft and cruelty was partially unwound after Audrina Renee McPeters was nabbed for a burglary totaling over $22,000 in goods from a Rohnert Park storage facility, the local Department of Public Safety reported in a recent press release.
Following the arrest made on March 19, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) uncovered evidence leading them down a path littered with crimes more heinous than the initial theft. They stumbled upon a severe case of animal cruelty involving approximately 1,000 game birds bred for combat on a property on Stony Point Rd, Santa Rosa, the department's press release, which was shared via Facebook, detailed the horrendous find.
RPDPS's continued investigation resulted in further arrests, with Jesus Miguel Santoyo Rodriguez accused of possessing illegal animal fighting paraphernalia and Jose Guadalupe Luna-Ruiz charged, their connection to the original crime exposed by evidence that surfaced during the probe; both individuals now face the consequences of their alleged involvement.
Public Safety Officer Hargreaves earned a special nod of gratitude for his commitment to unraveling this complex case, his efforts not unnoticed by the RPDPS as they extended their thanks through the same social media announcement, his diligence a beacon of hope in a case mired in darkness.
As the investigation continues, the department encourages anyone with further information to contribute by calling RPDPS at (707) 584-2600, referencing Case #24-0882. The local authorities also acknowledged the support of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and Santa Rosa PD in tackling the case that spanned beyond typical burglary to a deeper level of criminality.
