San Antonio locals can expect a mix of sunshine and spring showers in the upcoming days, according to recent forecasts. While today remains partly sunny with temperatures peaking around 86 degrees, the National Weather Service alerts to northeasterly winds that are to briskly gust up to 23 mph.
As night descends, the city will see the skies turn partly cloudy, offering a temporary reprieve from the winds, which are expected to slow down to a 10 to 15 mph breeze. "Partly sunny, with a high near 84," is what Saturday's forecast holds, with gusts potentially reaching 18 mph, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The relatively mild conditions are slated to take a turn Saturday night as the chance of showers and thunderstorms bubbles up to 40 percent after 1am. Residents should brace for increased cloud cover and persistent easterly winds. Moving into Sunday, forecasts by KSAT indicate a stormy outlook; with "Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms" and a 60 percent chance of precipitation clawing through the serenity of the weekend.
Temperatures early next week are set to rise, with Monday's thermometer climbing near 89 degrees under partly sunny skies. However, San Antonio isn't quite done with the rain just yet, as both Monday and Wednesday nights are to again bear witness to a chance of showers and thunderstorms. "Mostly sunny, with a high near 90," KSAT notes for next Tuesday, extending hope for clearer days ahead.
Yet, the pendulum swings back as midweek approaches, and residents should keep an eye out for a potential influx of rainfall. Thunderstorms continue to lurk in the forecasts, keeping San Antonians in the fairly predictable clutches of April showers – albeit a little behind schedule – as they make their slow journey into May.
