A San Antonio man is looking at 16 years behind bars for masterminding a daring pawn shop robbery and peddling the stolen firearms on social media. Antonio Hinojosa Jr., 21, was handed a 192-month sentence after pleading guilty to a trio of federal charges including conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and firearms trafficking conspiracy.

The heist, which went down on May 18, 2023, saw Hinojosa and a crew clad in masks and dark attire, make off with 14 guns and over $8,600 worth of jewelry, while holding up staff at gunpoint. The crime didn't stay under wraps for long, though. Hinojosa took to social media afterwards, flaunting the stolen goods and seeking buyers, an act which ultimately led to his June 26 arrest, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas.

His accomplice, Joshua Michael Govea, is already serving a 117-month sentence after copping to his part in the robbery. Two others allegedly involved, Cesar Alan Garcia and Sebastian Louis Xavier Suarez, await their day in court. They stay behind bars, and until their guilt is proven in a court of law, the two stand presumed innocent.

The feds praised the successful partnership between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the San Antonio Police Department. Which, led to the swift apprehension and prosecution of those involved. The case was put before the courts by Assistant U.S. Attorney William Calve, announced U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza.
