Search operations intensify as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park rangers continue their hunt for 62-year-old Timothy Cook. Last seen on May 12 near the Chimney Tops Overlook, Cook's unattended vehicle was discovered two days later parked in the area, triggering alarm and a widespread search.
Described as a white male with black hair, a white beard, and brown eyes, Cook stands approximately 5'10" and weighs around 190 lbs. Last glimpsed wandering near the scenic overlook, a popular hiking destination, concern is mounting for his safety. As reported by WATE, the situation is all the more pressing as statistics show that almost 400 people go missing in Tennessee every year.
The National Park Service urges the public to join in their efforts if they have any information on Cook's whereabouts. Anyone who sees him or can provide any leads should not hesitate to reach out. As noted by WBIR, tips can be submitted through various channels including phone calls to the NPS Tip Line at 888-653-0009, online submissions, and emails directed to [email protected], as well as through the emergency number 9-1-1.
The details surrounding Cook's disappearance remain scant, according to WVLT,
