A man's Sunday morning break-in attempt was cut short when Seattle Police nabbed him at a West Seattle home, authorities said.
Officers responded promptly to a reported burglary in progress at a residence near Alki Avenue Southwest at approximately 9:25 a.m. The homeowner, who was present at the time, faced an unexpected threat as the perpetrator, armed with a knife, attempted to gain entry and made explicit threats. The swift and decisive action of the local authorities was crucial in addressing this perilous situation.
The homeowner wasn't fazed by the encounter and kept an eye on the suspect until the police arrived and arrested him. Afterward, the police found more than just a man with a knife—they discovered a collection of weapons that included pepper spray and another blade.
The suspect, a 47-year-old man whose morning escapade turned into a jailhouse retreat, is now cooling his heels in King County Jail. He faces charges for Investigation of Burglary and Felony Harassment, as the Seattle Police Department revealed in a statement.
This case is now in the hands of detectives from the General Investigations Unit, who are probably piecing together the suspect’s motives and, the events leading up to the foiled break-in.
