On February 5, families around the world take part in the celebrations for Lunar New Year. To kick off the 15 days of celebration, Chinese families gather at home or at a favorite restaurant on New Year’s Eve (Feb. 4) for a reunion dinner, often featuring noodles for longevity, fish for prosperity and dumplings for wealth.

1. Mike's Noodle House

Topping the list is Mike's Noodle House. Located at 418 Maynard Ave. South (between Jackson and King streets) in the International District, this noodle-focused joint is the highest rated restaurant of its kind in Seattle, boasting four stars out of 971 reviews on Yelp. The beef brisket is especially popular.

2. Mee Sum Pastry

Next up is Pike Place Market's Mee Sum Pastry, situated at 1526 Pike Place (between Post Alley). While this takeout-only stand isn't the right place for a banquet, you can call ahead to pick up big bag of pork buns and other goodies. With four stars out of 679 reviews on Yelp, it has proven to be a local favorite.

3. Xi'an Noodles

The University District's Xi'an Noodles, located at 5259 University Way NE (between 52nd and 55th streets), is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the eatery four stars out of 583 reviews for its handmade noodles in different styles.

4. King Noodle
