A man wanted in connection to a shooting in Northeast D.C. that left an adult and a child injured last month has been nabbed in North Carolina, police said Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police Department announced that 29-year-old Alante Partlow, originally from Northeast Washington, was arrested on Tuesday by the Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force in Greensboro, NC. The arrest follows an April 23rd incident where officers discovered a male victim and a 5-year-old girl with gunshot wounds after responding to reports of a shooting on the 4800 block of North Capitol Street at approximately 11:30 p.m.

According to authorities, both victims were quickly transported to local hospitals where they received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Not long after the crime, detectives obtained a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for Partlow, charging him with Aggravated Assault while Armed (Gun).

The investigation into the April shooting revealed that Partlow and the victims were acquainted, suggesting a possible motive waiting to be unearthed in the justice system confines. Partlow is currently undergoing the extradition process and will soon be dispatched back to Washington, D.C. to face charges.
