
A dramatic standoff in South LA concluded Monday evening when a male suspect involved in an earlier shooting in Lynwood was taken into custody inside a Florence Avenue apartment building. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, officers descended upon the location around 3:30 p.m. following reports of the barricaded gunman, as reported by CBS News Los Angeles.
The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, holed up in the 1600 block of East Florence Avenue, triggering a sizable police presence and prompting evacuations within the neighborhood, the department was forced to call in their Special Enforcement Bureau and Crisis Negotiation Team to manage the situation and work towards a resolution and people in the vicinity were evacuated as a precaution, as per the LASD - Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept Information Bureau.
