A teenage suspect is in custody after a heated argument led to an aggravating episode of gun-wielding threats and property destruction in Washington D.C.'s Fifth District. The Metropolitan Police Department apprehended a 14-year-old male following the confrontation that took a dangerous turn nearly a month ago, officials stated.

The incident occurred on April 7 when, at approximately 12:55 p.m., the young suspect and two other individuals were involved in a vehicular dispute in the 600 block of Morton Place, Northeast. According to a report by the MPD, an argument led the victim to stop the car and all parties to exit, upon which the teen entered a nearby residence, emerging with a rifle. The suspect, waving the rifle, both shattered the vehicle's window and laid the firearm against one of the victims before they managed to escape.

In a turn of events, the juvenile suspect gave himself up to the police yesterday. Facing charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and several other related offenses, the teen was arrested in line with a DC Superior Court custody order.

The charges against the young person encompass Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Unlawful Discarding of a Firearm, Threats to Injure or Kidnap, and Destruction of Property.
