An early morning police chase involving an Ohio driver crossed state lines into Michigan on Thursday, ending with the suspect's arrest in Monroe County. The 30-year-old Toledo man, whose identity has not yet been released, led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit after evading a traffic stop around 2:13 a.m., as reported by ClickOnDetroit.

Starting in Toledo, Ohio, and winding its way into neighboring Michigan, the chase prompted police from Washington Township, Ohio, to alert the Monroe County authorities about the fleeing suspect, said to possibly have outstanding warrants. Monroe County deputies used stop sticks at LaPlasiance Road to slow the car before discontinuing the chase at Dix Highway and I-75. However, Michigan State Police spotted the car shortly after on I-96 near Schaefer Highway, leading to the suspect's capture, CBS News Detroit detailed.

The suspect was eventually arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail where he is being held pending arraignment. The Monroe County sheriff's office has declined to release further information about the suspect's identity ahead of the legal proceedings, The Detroit News reports.

While the chase has concluded, the investigation into the incident remains active.
