San Diego turned into a scene of chaos and confusion late Saturday night as gunshots interrupted the peace of Egger Highlands, resulting in two teenagers wounded. According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander's Log, officers rushed to the 1800 block of Elm Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire around 9:15 PM.
Upon arrival, they found a disarrayed scene with a large group of youths scattering. Amidst the commotion, officers discovered an 18-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to her left leg, who was promptly transported to the hospital. Her injuries, deemed non-life threatening, signaled relief amidst the panic-stricken neighborhood.
Shortly after, a second gunshot victim, a 17-year-old juvenile male, self-presented at a nearby hospital bearing three wounds from a gun – one to his shoulder, one to his chest, and another to his buttocks. According to the official report, his condition was also classified as non-life threatening.
In the aftermath of the shooting, no suspects have been taken into custody. Southern Division detectives are at the helm of the investigation, piecing together eyewitness accounts and neighborhood whispers.
