An armed robbery had erupted at a business on the 1200 block of Tennessee Street, as informed by the Vallejo Police Department in a Facebook post.
Responding to an urgent dispatch call, officers arrived at the scene to confront the aftermath of the crime. The store's cashier recounted a harrowing tale of multiple males entering the establishment, one wielding a firearm. According to the department's Facebook page, the cashier was struck with the gun and threatened with death should a non-compliance occur. The suspects then fled with cash that had a tracking device embedded within.
In a swift tactical move, law enforcement tracked the robbers to Candy Dr. and Jack London Dr. A pursuit ensued, culminating in the suspects ditching their vehicles on Marshall Way before scattering on foot. Due to one suspect's decision to keep the tracked money on his person, officers could make quick arrests with assistance from the local community and a K9 unit.
All five culprits were detained, including the driver who had used his mother's car. Four of the suspects, unfortunately minors, were booked into the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. The single adult was sent to the clinker. A loaded firearm lacking a serial number was also retrieved and discarded near the hiding spot of one suspect.
Every dime of the stolen money was recovered, and the driver's mother was informed that her vehicle was impounded.
