Washington D.C. commuters, residents, and sports fans may want to circle June 4 on their calendars, as DDOT invites the public to sound off on the traffic and parking situation around Capital One Arena. In collaboration with the Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2C, residents will get a chance to voice their concerns or give kudos during a meeting that aims to improve transportation flow during large-scale events.
The focus of the gathering will be to scrutinize the current traffic patterns and parking provisions that transform into a logjam of cars buses or weave of pedestrians whenever the Wizards or Capitals play—or when concerts hit the stage. Attendees will be able to share their two cents directly with city transportation officials, their experiences navigating the mayhem, suggestions to untangle current problems all which will be considered for integration into the forthcoming TOPP slated to be made public come this September.
Those interested in attending should be ready for a hybrid event, allowing participation from the comfort of their couch or in person at the centrally located Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. The Library's Meeting Room 401-A will host the in-person dialogue, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Easy access is available online, for details hit up the DDOT event page at DDOT's official website.
