Over the weekend, Champlin Park High School transformed into a hub of activity and learning as the Anoka-Hennepin School District hosted the 2024 Early Childhood Family Education Vehicle Fair. In a recent post by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, it was showcased that the younger citizens of our community had a joyful day exploring various service vehicles, something far from a typical classroom setting. Kids were seen clambering into patrol cars, horns honking in a cacophony of excitement, while their parents watched on with smiles and smartphones out, ready to capture the moment.

The fair provided a unique opportunity for children to learn directly about the vehicles that serve their community, including an airboat—a specialized conveyance meant for those transitional seasons and the tricky terrains where traditional cars and boats are unable to venture. Casey, the friendly mascot, made an appearance much to the delight of attendees, creating a light-hearted and inviting atmosphere. The Sheriff's Office appreciated the community presence, extending thanks to all who took the time to engage and learn. "Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi!" they shared on their social media.
Events like this vehicle fair are a staple of community engagement, fostering not only education but also a sense of closeness between residents and the various local services. The kids, many of whom harbor dreams of one day operating such machines, got firsthand knowledge of the inner workings of the service vehicles, and perhaps more importantly, the individuals who operate them daily.
