Authorities are on the lookout for two suspects involved in a brazen theft at a Walmart on the outskirts of Houston. Reports from the Constable's Office indicate that on April 26, Charles Scott and Kelan Francis allegedly broke into a display case at the chain's location on the 26200 block of the Northwest Freeway, making off with electronics valued at over $735.
After responding to the scene, investigators from Mark Herman's Constable Office swiftly launched an investigation. Despite the suspects' efforts to cover their tracks, law enforcement was able to identify both men involved in the crime. According to a Facebook post by the precinct, a pair of male suspects entered the Walmart and "broke into a secured display cage, stealing multiple electronics" before fleeing the store.
Constable Mark Herman has issued a statement stressing the severity of the crime. "Charles Scott and Kelan Francis are currently wanted by law enforcement for Felony Theft," his office confirmed. As of now, the courts have yet to set their bonds—Scott's with the 337 District Court, and Francis' with the 488 District Court.
The theft has sent ripples through the community, with many expressing concern over the increasing boldness of retail criminals. Residents have been urged by law enforcement to contribute any information they may have regarding the whereabouts of Scott and Francis. The Constable's statement appealed to the public, "If you have information regarding their whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement." The call to action underlines the need for community involvement in apprehending those who would disrupt the local peace.
