The Bloomington Police Department, still grappling with a cold case that has lingered for over a decade, is intensifying its efforts to bring closure to the family of April Pease. In a recent announcement, a reward of $2000 has been put forward for information leading to the discovery of Pease's remains. Pease has been missing since March 2009, but recent investigative work resulted in charges against Cedric Marks and Kellee Sorensen for her murder in Minnesota.
This monetary incentive reflects the department's commitment to resolving a case that has perpetrated a lingering wound in the community of Clearview, Oklahoma, where Marks has known ties. According to a statement by the Bloomington Police Department, the authority "strongly feels April’s remains are in the Clearview area" and is actively seeking any scrap of knowledge that the public might provide.
The search for Pease has not been passive. Authorities and communities have combed through Clearview multiple times, searching for any clue that might lead to the unfortunate woman's whereabouts. The goal is not only to serve justice by prosecuting those responsible but also to allow a grieving family the somber solace of laying their loved one to rest.
Members of the community who may hold valuable information, however seemingly insignificant, are encouraged to come forward. In communication shared by the Police Department, anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Harms of the Bloomington, MN Police Department at 952-563-4689. They've assured that individuals can contribute to this cause while remaining anonymous, an allowance that might ease the concerns of those hesitant to reveal what they know.
