
Claiborne County was shattered by the grim discovery of two men found dead, a case that the local sheriff's office is investigating as a double homicide. According to WVLT, the victims were found by their own family around 2 a.m. on Friday at the old Kopper Glo Mine in the Clairfield community, after being reported missing two days prior.
Sheriff Bob Brooks stated that the men were scrapping in the area, a detail which the family that found the bodies, had reported them missing Wednesday. The investigation, still in its early stages, has prompted the sheriff's office to ask anyone with information to come forward and contact them at 423-626-3385, as reported by WBIR.
The identities of the men remain undisclosed while the investigation proceeds. Found off Rock Creek Ridge Road, details surrounding their deaths are being tightly held by authorities as they navigate the ensuing investigation with caution and a determination for clarity and justice.
The bodies are now at the Knox County Regional Forensic Center, where autopsies will be performed. "This incident is being investigated as a double homicide by Claiborne County Investigators.
