Commuters in Buffalo, take note—Wright County's highway department has announced an immediate closure on a section of County Highway 35 due to unsafe road conditions. The problematic stretch, situated between Calder Avenue NE and Dague Avenue NE, fell victim to the recent spate of excessive rainfall, which interfered with ongoing pavement preservation work. Local traffic is still permitted, but other travelers will need to follow an alternative route.
The detour designed to circumvent the closure utilizes Calder Avenue NE, County Highway 34, and County Road 117 (Edmonson Avenue NE). Even though the main thoroughfare is shut down, the intersection of County Highway 35 and Dague Avenue/Bison Boulevard remains functional, and Buffalo High School can be accessed from the east. This inconvenience is a result of nature's unpredictable temperament, which sometimes disrupts the best-laid plans of local governments and motorists alike.
In information released by the Wright County Highway Department, they emphasized the necessity of the closure for safety while the preservation project is delayed. The statement, which was published on June 18th, can be found on the Wright County website. Work on the road will resume and be completed as promptly as the weather conditions permit, expected within a week if the skies clear.
Any concerns or questions about the closure and subsequent detour have been anticipated by the authorities. Sara Buermann, the Wright County Assistant Engineer, has been pointed out as the direct contact for additional information. Commuters looking for updates or further details are encouraged to reach out to her through the provided email, [email protected]. As always, residents’ patience and cooperation are appreciated during these times of unexpected adjustments and roadworks.
