The Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD) recently hosted their community engagement event "Coffee with a Cop" at Caribou Coffee inside Lunds & Byerlys, extending an open hand to residents for conversation and, of course, coffee.
The event, held earlier today, was headlined by Police Chief Matt Sackett who, along with other officers, mingled with citizens over complimentary coffee and baked treats, according to the City of Eden Prairie, MN. The refreshments were provided courtesy of Caribou and Lunds & Byerlys, a gesture that underlines the symbiotic relationship between the Eden Prairie businesses and law enforcement.
This initiative is part of a larger effort by the EPPD to foster a sense of community and open dialogue with the public they serve. Not simply a one-off, the program is sponsored by the Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund, which implies an ongoing investment in the tactics geared toward preemptive community care, rather than reactive policing alone, as per the City of Eden Prairie, MN.
