Euless Mayor Linda Martin takes home another accolade, snagging the Northeast Leadership Forum’s 2023 Distinguished Leadership Award for her steadfast commitment to regional service. Nominators from the area recognized Mayor Martin for "great work supporting the men and women serving in our police organizations, the youth within the City, and the continued partnership and work with the Tongan community," according to the City of Euless.
Well-known for her hands-on approach, Martin has embedded herself deeply in the fabric of local government and civic life since being elected to the Euless City Council in 2004 and subsequently as Mayor in 2014. Her dedication extends beyond the Council chamber, participating in organizations such as the DFW Airport Board, the HEB Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Citizens Fire Academy.
This recent honor is a reassuring continuity of recognition for Mayor Martin, who in 2021 received the Clyde Mooney Award from the HEB Chamber of Commerce - another testament to her impact. In times of adversity, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Martin showed leadership by partnering with Congresswoman Beth VanDuyne and others to host a North Texas Job Fair, helping countless residents grappling with unemployment. Her focus on the future is also evident in her frequent presence at HEB ISD, Harmony Science Academy, and Colleyville Heritage High School where she engages with students, emphasizing the importance of education.
Never one to shy away from the grassroots level, Mayor Martin's four-year stint with the South Euless Elementary School PTA is a further illustration of her close ties with the community. As Euless shines a spotlight on their lauded Mayor, her journey from an active member of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni to the helm of the city council continues to inspire many within and beyond the city limits.
