Former Arizona State University football player Tevin Favor is facing allegations of sexual assault once again, following his arrest by Paradise Valley police on June 5. This development comes with a history of legal troubles for Favor, including a prior accusation of sexual assault in Scottsdale back in 2018, for which he was acquitted by a jury in 2020, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The latest incident reportedly occurred in April at a house party and involves a woman who claimed she was Favor's client. According to 12 News, the woman instructed Favor to stop his advances at the party, but later, she woke up to him on top of her. During the alleged assault, she reached out to a friend via text for help. The friend arrived and escorted her from the premises, the report adding, that after the event, Favor engaged in behavior that the police found suspicious, such as deleting his social media accounts and searching for the woman's name in his email inbox.
Furthermore, court records reveal, that text messages exchanged between Favor and the alleged victim after the incident show Favor acknowledging some form of sexual contact. However, when authorities took him into custody, Favor chose not to provide a statement regarding the allegations. The ongoing investigation has prompted the Paradise Valley Police Department to encourage anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
While the echoes of his past acquittal linger, police note that this is not an isolated event, and Favor has been investigated for similar cases before. Favor was booked and charged with Sexual Assault and Unlawful Imprisonment, as stated by officials from the Paradise Police Department in a release obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
