A Sunday inferno ravaged two mobile homes in Shelter Valley, booting four people from their residences, officials reported. The blaze erupted in a secluded neighborhood just off Lucky Devil Trail and was tackled by fire crews who responded to emergency calls shortly after 2 p.m., according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Initial reports included accounts of explosions heard by the locals, who subsequently observed the mobile homes fully engaged by fire. Residents witnessed, with firefighters arriving, vegetation briefly threaten the surrounding area. "Crews have mitigated the threat to the surrounding vegetation," stated a post on CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire's Facebook page. Miraculously, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
The crisis left three adults and a child without a roof, prompting the Red Cross to intervene. The aid organization is providing displaced individuals with temporary shelter alternatives as they grapple with the sudden upheaval of their lives. Cal Fire Capt. Brent Pascua confirmed the support, noting that firefighters quickly contained the fire, preventing it from consuming adjacent properties.
Details regarding the origin of the disaster remain under wraps, with an investigation underway to decipher what sparked the devastation that consumed the homes. "The cause of the fire is under investigation," said the crew from the fire lines via The San Diego Union-Tribune.
