A disturbing development has emerged in the aftermath of a Gallatin, Tennessee home explosion that occurred Friday morning, leaving one woman in critical condition. Authorities now believe the incident was deliberate. WSMV reports that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is handling the case and has declared the explosion, which happened around 7:30 A.M. on Chaffin Court, to be intentional at this stage.

The explosion not only devastated the residence, sending the woman to a local burn center with serious burns but also resulted in damaged properties in the vicinity, with multiple homes reporting broken glass windows and even though Gallatin Fire Chief Jeff Beaman described such events as pretty rare. This particular incident is already having reverberations among the neighbors, according to WHNT.

The affected home was part of a duplex, and the occupant of the adjoining half, Brenda Strong, narrowly avoided being at home during the explosion due to an early morning walk. She recounted to WSMV her emotional distress at the loss of personal belongings including cherished family photographs while expressing relief that her neighbor's injuries were not more severe.

In response to the incident, utilities in the area were swiftly addressed, with gas service being cut off to prevent further accidents as investigations by both TBI and ATF personnel continued.
