If you're ready to pledge allegiance to a day of all-American festivities, look no further than the heart of Garland. The city's Downtown Square will be pulsing with the beat of country music and the buzz of family-friendly activities this July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m., during the Red, White & YOU! celebration. Garland is calling on its community to join in on an event that's as traditional as apple pie, according to the City of Garland.

The evening is set to unfurl under a canopy of stars with country melodies as your backdrop. One can't help but almost feel that twang in your heartstrings when Randall King and Jon Stork hit their respective stages at 8 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. King is a honky-tonk stalwart, while Stork offers up a blend of RockyTonk vibes and soul.

And for those who find themselves snapping selfies in front of urban art, the live longhorn stationed in front of one of Garland’s murals is a photo op not to be missed. When it's time to cool down, the Bomb Pop cooling station promises to be a hit, as well as other attractions including the Texas Skatium roller rink and a crafty stop at the Weld Wool hat bar, where the first 75 hat personalizations come with a bonus.

Logistics need not be a fuss. The city's got you covered with shuttle services running from Williams Stadium and Garland High School, along with the DART rail system dropping off celebrants just two blocks from the action. "The fastest way to reach the festival is via our continuous shuttle service," the City of Garland mentioned, indicating that convenience is a priority. And for the record, the event marks an Independence Day homecoming for the Square, which, as Garland's Mayor Scott LeMay noted in February, hasn't hosted a July 4th event since 2008.
