
The centennial celebration of the National League of Cities (NLC) made its mark in Grand Prairie this weekend, spotlighting EpicCentral, a prime example of local collaboration and one of the 100 cities being honored by the organization's Coast-to-Coast Roadshow. According to the City of Grand Prairie, Texas, NLC's Director of Member Services and Engagement Bryan Griffith applauded the community's synergy, saying, "I have just not seen anything like this collaboration that’s taking place in Grand Prairie, among the city, among the small businesses, among the community, to have a great place to live, work and play".
Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen echoed the sentiment, celebrating the recognition and reflecting on the city's contributions to local governance, he stated, as per the City of Grand Prairie, Texas, "This is a tremendous honor for Grand Prairie and a testament to the significance of our City's contributions to the fabric of American local governance." It's a busy time for the Texas town, which not only hosted NLC officials but also the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at its newly refurbished cricket stadium, boosting international exposure.
The visit from the NLC gave city leaders the chance to show off EpicCentral's best, a bus tour showcasing The Summit, PlayGrand Adventures, Bolder Adventure Park, Epic Waters, The Epic, and a top-notch public safety building, Zane King, creative producer for EpicCentral remarked on the uniqueness of the city's investment in its crown jewels, stating per the City of Grand Prairie, Texas, "We’re all working toward the goal of making this an exceptional place for the citizens of Grand Prairie and one of the Top 5 destinations in the state of Texas."
There's more good news for locals and visitors alike; Mayor Jensen alluded to promising developments on the horizon for Grand Prairie, mentioning new ventures including the upcoming business establishment of TopGolf, set to open next year alongside the newly built Bass Pro Shop and Andretti’s Indoor Karting, "We’ve really been impressed, not only with the hospitality but the incredible work that’s happening here in Grand Prairie, Texas," Griffith was quoted in City of Grand Prairie, Texas, confirming the positivity surrounding the region's growth and expansion efforts.
