The Hillsborough Police Department is on the alert after four vehicles were reported stolen in just 24 hours, according to an announcement made by the HPD. The recent spike in vehicle thefts has triggered a community-wide call for vigilance and crime prevention measures.

Two of the thefts occurred yesterday on the 1200 block of San Raymundo Road, with the stolen vehicles being a 2020 Silver Mercedes 590 and a 2018 Blue Volkswagen Atlas. The other two thefts happened a day earlier, on Ravenscourt and Roehampton Roads, involving a 2023 Black Jeep Cherokee and a 2012 White Toyota Sienna, the HPD reported. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects responsible for these incidents.

The police request assistance from the community, especially residents near the sites of the stolen vehicles, asking them to review home security footage. "If you observed any suspicious activity or have information that may aid in this investigation, please contact the HPD dispatch center at 1-650-375-7470," the HPD stated. One crucial detail provided by law enforcement points to a preventable risk: each of the four stolen vehicles was left unlocked, with the keys inside.

"Though Hillsborough consistently ranks among California's safest cities, it is not without criminal activity. We take great pride in working in partnership with our community to solve and prevent crime," the department commented
