Police investigators have been piecing together the evidence following a lethal hit-and-run incident that left a 28-year-old man dead, at 16000 Imperial Valley Drive in Houston. The event occurred late Saturday night, approximately at 11:20 p.m., June 1. The victim, whose name has yet to be disclosed pending notification from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, met his untimely end while traversing the road outside a designated crosswalk area, as the City of Houston News reported yesterday.
According to the preliminary report by HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth, and Officer L. Fenogolio, a vehicle thought to be a red Dodge Ram was traveling southbound when it struck the male pedestrian. The driver, whose actions have precipitated a cascade of law enforcement inquiries, absconded from the site immediately following the crash. Emergency services swiftly conveyed the victim to a nearby hospital, however, the medical team could not reverse the course of his injuries, and he was declared deceased.
Authorities are now actively seeking the public's assistance to track down the culprits being the wheel.
