Early Friday morning, Chanhassen deputies were called to an alarming disturbance caused by a vehicular incident off Lake Lucy Road and Powers Boulevard. The scene, as reported by Carver County Sheriff's Facebook post, revealed a car that had collided with various objects including landscaping, signs, and a tree. Deputies were quick to discover that earlier accounts of a "mysterious third guy" fleeing the scene were unfounded.
Upon further investigation, it became clear the adult driver was impaired and subsequently arrested for DWI. Meanwhile, accompanying them, an adult passenger caught in the tangle of the morning's events was cited and released for underage consumption.
The deputies wish to extend their gratitude towards a citizen who, upon witnessing the commotion, wasted no time in exerting authority. They went full "mom mode," commanding the shell-shocked young adults to remain seated and not attempt to evade accountability. "It does not pay to drink and drive," emphasized the report from the Sheriff's Office. Besides the legal consequences, such as potential jail time, fines, and property damage, it's a gamble with one's own life and the lives of others.
