Two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, have been arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery and riot incident that took place in the parking ramp of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), according to the City of Duluth - Police Department. The report states that the males were apprehended Wednesday night without any issues and are currently held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center facing charges of aiding and abetting a first-degree aggravated robbery and third-degree riot.
The arrest comes in the wake of an alleged assault that unfolded around 4:05 p.m. on Monday, June 17, when a 75-year-old male was reportedly attacked and robbed by three juveniles, as reported by the City of Duluth - Police Department.
Police documents reveal that the victim, who suffered minor injuries in the ordeal, decided to not seek medical aid. The youths were identified soon after but were not immediately taken into custody to allow continuous gathering of more evidence in the ongoing investigation, as per the City of Duluth - Police Department. Despite efforts, the victim's backpack remains missing, and the case has been forwarded to the Violent Crimes Unit for further action.
