Los Angeles is set for a week of typical June gloom with a side of sunshine, according to the extended forecast for the city. June 19th, also celebrated as Juneteenth, will start with patchy fog before the skies clear to a comfortable high of 76 degrees. "Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing," reports the National Weather Service. Light winds from the southeast will shift to come from the southwest in the afternoon. As night falls, Angelenos can expect the clouds to roll back in with lows settling around 60 degrees.
The pattern is set to continue into Thursday, with morning fog once more giving way to clearer skies and a high inching up to 77. The light winds of the day will calmly to turn southwest in the afternoon, making for pleasant conditions. Thursday night will see a return of the patchy fog after 11pm, as temperatures dip to a low around 61. This cycle of fog and sunshine is a dance familiar to residents, offering a mild reprieve from the typical Southern California heat.
Heading into the weekend, the city will warm up slightly. Friday's forecast is a near-repeat of the preceding days, with morning fog expected before the sun claims the sky, pushing temperatures to a nearly perfect 79 degrees. The same calm wind will set in later in the day, ensuring the gentle climate persists. "Mostly sunny," says the forecast for Friday, with the night bringing a soft cover of clouds and a 64-degree low.
Saturday's warmth will be more pronounced with a high near 83 degrees after the fog lifts. Despite the fog's insistence to manifest before the 11am hour, it will be unable to stave off the persistent L.A. sun for long. As evening approaches, a familiar blanket of clouds will usher in a touch cooler low of around 63. The story isn't set to change much into the new week, with temperatures gradually ascending each day, Monday and Tuesday promising even warmer highs near 84 and 85 degrees, respectively.
