
Early Tuesday morning, an unsettling incident unfolded outside a South Philadelphia diner when a man was shot multiple times. The violence erupted just after 8:30 a.m. outside the Oregon Diner on the 300 block of Oregon Avenue, close to the Whitman Plaza shopping center. The victim, who appeared to be in his 30s, was struck by gunfire in his chest, arm, and buttocks, according to NBC Philadelphia.
The urgency to save the man's life led to him being quickly transported to the hospital by car. As he arrived in critical condition, details about the incident were scant, and the Philadelphia police have not yet been able to publicly put forth any motives or suspects. Investigators are still actively working to piece together the sequence of events that led up to the shooting.
As reported by 6ABC, the victim was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital, also in critical condition. With a local man fighting for his life, the community awaits answers. The identity of the man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, has not been disclosed as authorities continue their investigation.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting as of yet, and the police urge anyone with information to come forward.
