A horrific morning collision on the East Interstate Highway 10 in Houston has claimed the life of a man, local authorities confirmed. The accident occurred at approximately 9:05 a.m. yesterday near 10900 East Freeway, where a white Nissan Maxima was involved in a deadly crash, Houston police reported.
The driver of the Nissan, a 30-year-old male whose name has not been released pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences was traveling behind a blue Volvo tractor-trailer when he lost control of his vehicle, it spun and hit the back of the larger truck, the Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer L. Ho described the scene he was quickly transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where his injuries proved fatal and resulted in his death.
The aftermath of the collision caused major disruptions along the freeway as investigators worked to determine the cause of the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler was cooperative with law enforcement and after being questioned, was released from the scene with no charges reported as of yet.
