
The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the community for help in the aftermath of an armed robbery that took place in Southeast DC. According to official reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, when two suspects confronted individuals in the 1500 block of Freedom Way, brandishing a handgun before making off with personal property.
Running at approximately 12:15 p.m., one of the suspects can be seen in video footage using a handgun to threaten the victims, as they demanded their belongings. The police have released the video with hopes that the community will assist in identifying the perpetrators. Fleeing the scene, the suspects were last seen driving away in a not yet identified vehicle.
Officers are actively investigating the robbery and have asked anyone with information on the suspects or the vehicle to come forward. Descriptions of the suspects have been circulated, but their identities remain unknown. The victims were not physically harmed during the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling the department's tip line or through their official website.
