
Tragedy struck on Highway 24 in Clearwater this past Friday when a motorcycle crash claimed two lives. The Minnesota State Patrol released a statement detailing the incident, in which a Harley Davidson collided with a Chevy Silverado at the intersection of Hwy. 24 and 179th Street NW. The crash occurred near the local Kwik Trip station at approximately 12:46 P.M.
The victims, a 50-year-old male driver, and his 46-year-old female passenger were both from Clear Lake. Officials confirmed that neither were wearing helmets at the time of the collision. A 28-year-old male from South Haven, the driver of the Chevy, was reported uninjured in the unfortunate event. According to the Wright County website, alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
State authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals involved pending notification of their families.
The investigation into the specific circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
