According to a press release from the MPD, the incident occurred on the evening of April 18, 2024, in the vicinity of the 400 block of C Street.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. that Thursday, an individual was assaulted by suspects who then proceeded to make off with their belongings, the crime took place as the victim was on foot within the neighborhood, which prompted immediate investigation by law enforcement officials. Detectives from the First District are spearheading efforts to apprehend those responsible and have since released updated photographs of the individuals believed to be connected to the crime, these images are intended to facilitate identification and capture.
The Metropolitan Police Department has not divulged specific details concerning the nature or value of the stolen property. However, they are actively seeking any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the alleged perpetrators.
