Nashville residents are bracing for a week filled with soaring temperatures and potential thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Starting today, the city is anticipating a high near 95 degrees with a heat index climbing to 102 degrees. There's also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2 pm and 4 pm. This unsettled pattern is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies tonight, with lows around 74 degrees.

The hot weather is set to continue into Tuesday, featuring partly sunny skies with highs inching close to 94 degrees. This spike in the mercury comes with heat index values that could reach as high as 98 degrees. The NWS also details that south winds will flow at around 5 to 10 mph throughout the day. However, the weather takes a turn heading into Juneteenth, as residents can expect partly sunny conditions with the high cooling slightly near 92 degrees.

As reported by the National Weather Service, the latter part of the week doesn't offer much reprieve from the heat. Thursday's forecast predicts mostly sunny skies with a high nearing 96 degrees, presenting yet another sweltering day for Nashvillians. The evening should bring mostly clear conditions with a low of around 72 degrees.

Heading toward the weekend, on Friday, temperatures are predicted to soar even higher with a sunny and hot forecast featuring highs nearing 99 degrees. The NWS further notes that the pattern will persist into Saturday, maintaining sunny and hot conditions. Sunday introduces a change with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Although, the temperatures remain consistently high with a near 99-degree mark projected once again.
