Following the disturbing incident that took place on Monday evening, Nashville police detectives are working steadfastly to resolve a targeted shooting on Brawner Avenue which has left a man in a critical condition. The shooting, which occurred around 7 p.m., reportedly stemmed from an altercation involving 31-year-old Dondrinkus Dickerson and an unnamed suspect, as detailed by the Nashville Police Department.

Laying underneath Dickerson, a handgun was found and later identified as stolen from an April 2023 aggravated robbery. Struck in the head by gunfire, Dickerson was rushed to Skyline Medical Center where, tragically, he continues to fight for his life in what doctors are calling a life-threatening predicament.

The gunfire also wounded a 28-year-old man, who happened to be at the scene. An innocent bystander caught in the fray, he received treatment and was subsequently released from the hospital, having suffered injuries that were fortunately not life-threatening.
