A sergeant from Constable Mark Herman's Office pulled over a vehicle on Mills Road earlier this week, leading to the arrest of two men wanted on felony charges. The incident happened on June 11, when the driver, now identified as Mark Garcia, attempted to discard a white baggie as the vehicle came to a halt. Quickly on the scene, a K9 unit recovered the tossed item confirming it to be 11.3 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, according to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook post.
When officials carried out a routine identity check, the passenger initially gave a fictitious name but was later identified as Roberto Alvarez, who was found in possession of a weapon. Further investigations revealed that Garcia had an active warrant for possession of a dangerous drug, while Alvarez had a more severe rap sheet, featuring an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated family assault and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
"They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants. Mark Garcia was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and received a $10,000.00 bond. Roberto Alvarez was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His total bond was set at $100,000.00 out of the 184th District Court.” stated Constable Mark Herman in a post on social media.
