
Early Sunday morning, a quiet parking lot on McKinley Drive in Tampa became the site of a deadly altercation, as local authorities were called to the scene of a shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded. According to a release by the City of Tampa, the Tampa Police Department dispatched officers to 11606 McKinley Drive following a 911 call at around 4:40 am on June 23, 2024, where they discovered two vehicles riddled with bullet holes.
Upon their arrival, police were confronted with the aftermath of gun violence; officers found four individuals who had suffered gunshot wounds, amongst them, one person was pronounced deceased at the scene and the remaining three, whose condition is listed as stable, are now being treated in a nearby hospital. While the deceased has been preliminarily identified as Charles Jones born on June 21, 1998, final confirmation awaits from the Medical Examiner's Office.
The motive behind the shooting remains a mystery, with detectives actively piecing together the events that escalated to such a tragic end. Police efforts to track down suspects or witnesses are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
