Parolee Jorge Mazuera, previously convicted on six counts of possession of child pornography, has been apprehended by constables for violating parole stipulations. The arrest, as detailed by the office of Constable Mark Herman, occurred on June 11, when investigators from the High Tech Crimes Unit, in concert with Special Operations units, executed a felony warrant.
Information leading to the capture of Mazuera indicated that he was again implicated in the possession of child pornography, a direct infringement of his parole. A digital device was seized during the arrest. As mentioned on Constable Herman's office’s Facebook page, additional charges are possible pending the ongoing investigation.
In October 2022, Mazuera was sentenced to spend six years behind bars in the Texas Department of Corrections. However, he was placed on parole before serving his full sentence and resided in Harris County upon his conditional release. Reiterating the gravity with which his office treats such offenses, Constable Mark Herman said, "Our Office has taken a firm stance on identifying and eradicating child pornography and will continue to dedicate the necessary resources to seek out and charge those who prey on our children."
