
A suspect in a deadly shooting in Philadelphia from last year has been apprehended in Puerto Rico, said the police. NBC Philadelphia reports that on the night of January 31, 2023, Samuel Rosario was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 2600 block of North 13th Street and was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a local hospital.
The search for the shooter concluded with the arrest of Amir Studevan, who was found in Puerto Rico after reportedly fleeing post the incident. Charged with murder and other offenses related to Rosario's death, Studevan's apprehension came over a year after the shooting as per authorities cited by 6ABC. The details surrounding his evasion to Puerto Rico, however, remain undisclosed by law enforcement officials.
Following his capture, Studevan is now awaiting extradition back to Philadelphia, where he will stand trial for his alleged crimes. According to FOX 29, Studevan faces charges of murder and additional related crimes.
The police have yet to release an explanation for why Studevan may have chosen Puerto Rico as his hideout following the homicide. Now back in Philadelphia, Studevan has the weight of the legal system awaiting him, leaving the community to hope for justice in the wake of Rosario's untimely demise.
