Plano residents had the chance to up their home security game this past Wednesday, as the Plano Police Department hosted a free Property Safety program. The no-cost educational event took place at the Davis Library's Program Room from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, offering attendees a wealth of knowledge on how to better protect their homes from burglaries and theft.
The key speaker, Plano Police Officer Chris Bianez, shed light on the best practices to safeguard personal possessions and the methods to reinforce doors and windows against unauthorized intrusions. One of the focal points of the workshop was educating homeowners about how burglars can quickly and quietly gain access to homes without having to forcefully break in. Officer Bianez also discussed various effective systems and strategies that are known to effectively deter potential burglars. "Participants will learn how to make your doors and windows more burglar-resistant," the Plano Texas Police Department stated.
Despite the heavy subject matter, which the event disclaimer noted was not suitable for children younger than 11 years old, there was no need for parents to pre-register their older kids or themselves. This made it possible for more residents to casually drop by and gain insights into property safety without the hassle of an advanced sign-up process.
