
MANKATO, MN—A residence on North Broad Street became the site of a swift emergency response after reports of a structure fire prompted action from the local fire department. On June 18, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Mankato's Department of Public Safety teams rushed to 125 N. Broad Street where a fire had broken out. According to the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government, responders spotted light smoke seeping from the second-story windows on arrival.
The firefighting personnel managed to enter the building and get the fire under control. Witnesses observed as firefighters efficiently tackled the smoke and flames, preventing further spread. "Two occupants and their dog were able to exit the house before first responders arrived and were uninjured," as per the City of Mankato, giving credit, to the quick action taken by those at the scene.
While the fire did not result in any casualties, the damage inflicted upon the home is significant. Initial assessments peg the cost of damages at around $30,000, as mentioned by authorities.
