The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has reported the arrest of Alejandro Cordova, a 26-year-old man facing federal charges after a cache of drugs, weapons, and cash was found in his East Bexar County home. According to KENS 5, deputies discovered approximately $35,000 in cash, five handguns, a rifle, jewelry valued above $30,000, and a variety of drugs during a search warrant executed in the 10100 block of Cricket Place.
Contained within the home, the BCSO Organized Crime Division also found cocaine, Xanax pills, marijuana, THC, and paraphernalia for drug packaging, including scales and money counting machines. After finding an illegal firearm switch among these items, Cordova was subsequently apprehended and charged with multiple offenses. As reported by News 4 San Antonio, the charges include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance less than 200 grams, possession of marijuana under 5 lbs, and possession of illegal pills.
The arrest comes as part of a focused effort by the BCSO to combat organized crime within the community. Cordova's custody status puts him behind the bars in the Bexar County Jail, waiting for the judicial proceedings on the alleged federal offenses.
Details from the sheriff’s office released on Facebook detailed the June 19 raid, which culminated in the seizure of everything from drugs to an assault rifle in Cordova's possession. The operation underscores ongoing efforts by local authorities to target drug-related criminal activity on the East Side. The public has been made privy to this information as the investigation continues, and the sheriff's office maintains a dialogue with the community, underlining their commitment to neighborhood safety.
