The quiet of a Santa Rosa neighborhood was shattered last Thursday morning when a home invasion robbery prompted a swift response from local law enforcement. At approximately 9:50 a.m., Santa Rosa Police rushed to a residence on the 1800 block of Waltzer Road, where two adult males were found bound but unharmed following the incident; the suspect had forcibly entered the home, tied up the victims, and fled with money and a stolen vehicle, which was later recovered on a nearby street.
As the Violent Crimes Investigation Team took the helm of the ongoing investigation, while Field and Evidence Technicians meticulously processed the scene, video surveillance helped identify 61-year-old Agustin Anguiano-Soto, a resident of Santa Rosa, as the suspect. Later, he was located and arrested in Rohnert Park without further incident, an arrest made possible by the tireless efforts of the investigating officers, where evidence was recovered linking him to the crime.
Anguiano-Soto was booked at Sonoma County Jail under multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, false imprisonment, residential burglary, and motor vehicle theft, all charges reflective of the severity of his actions. A second man was implicated in the same crime in the following days. Investigators pinpointed Juan Uribe-Villafana, 40, determining that he had not only planned the robbery but also aided in its execution.
Uribe-Villafana was apprehended by Santa Rosa Police on Tuesday near Flower Avenue and Santa Rosa Avenue. Additionally, search warrants led to the discovery of further evidence at his Flower Avenue residence, and his booking charges included conspiracy to commit robbery alongside other offenses, adding layers of conspiracy and past indiscretions to an already complex case while the investigation continues as officers seek more witnesses and evidence.
Those with any information about the incident are called upon to help pursue justice. The Santa Rosa Police Department has an online Tip Line and can also be reached directly at (707) 543-3590.
