Scott County residents are gearing up for a night of connection and community safety with the Sheriff’s Office's announcement of the upcoming "Night to Unite" event. Scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th, neighborhoods will be hosting festivities from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. aimed at strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community.
During the event, seeking to prevent crime by getting to know the faces next door, Sheriff Luke Hennen, alongside various deputies and law enforcement personnel, will attend block parties throughout Scott County. Registered parties can expect visits from the likes of K-9 Deputy Floyd, Patrol Deputies, 9-1-1 Dispatchers, and other members of law enforcement, as mentioned in a statement by the Scott County Sheriff's Office.
"Night to Unite gives us the opportunity to meet with our residents and discuss ways we can help each other prevent crime in our neighborhoods," Sheriff Luke Hennen expressed in a recent press release. Emphasizing the importance of the relationship between the police and community, Hennen believes such partnerships are crucial to maintaining the area as a safe, great place to live.
Enthusiastically inviting residents and businesses from the 10 townships of Scott County and the city of Credit River, the Sheriff's Office awaits party registrations on their website. To ensure that Sheriff's Office personnel pop in at your community event, be sure to submit the online form by July 19th. For those residing in other Scott County communities within city limits, they are encouraged to contact local law enforcement agencies to arrange similar visits.
If interested parties have questions or need assistance, Community Engagement Deputy Amy Weckman is the point of contact. Deputy Weckman can be reached at 952-496-8862 or via email at [email protected], as the Sheriff's Office outlined in their announcement.
