The Ashe County community and local law enforcement agencies are on the search for David Kuklentz, a Charlotte man whose absence has marked the landscape with more questions than footprints. Kuklentz, 54, was last seen on June 15, around 1:30 p.m. near the Northwest Trading Post on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as confirmed by the WBTV.
Authorities remarked Kuklentz appears to have traveled by his own will to the area where his car was discovered, as reported by the sheriff's office. Standing at 6 feet and weighing about 180 pounds, he was last seen donning a white and black short-sleeved shirt, gray shorts, and flip-flops. The search, described by the Ashe Post & Times, has been extensive with teams diligently combing the area since Saturday night.
The Ashe County Rescue Squad first initiated the search for Kuklentz on Saturday night around 9 p.m., persisting until the early hours of 2 a.m. Sunday. Resuming at the break of 7 a.m, search efforts went on through 10 p.m. Sunday night, with plans to continue into Monday afternoon.
Community members with any information that may contribute to locating Kuklentz are urged to step forward. "Anyone with details should contact officials at 336-846-5600," as stated in a community call-to-action by QC News. As time marches on, so does the collective unease, where the hope for a safe return remains with every search party's step and every lead pursued.
