According to fireline.seattle.gov, the fire was reported at approximately 12:03 a.m., with over 85 firefighters eventually arriving to combat the two-story inferno.
Upon swiftly assessing the situation, the incident command decided to immediately upgrade the fire to a 2-alarm, calling in additional resources to help to quickly contain the fire. Crews mounted a defensive operation, concentrating on dousing the flames from the outside. To aid in their efforts, several ladder trucks were positioned to direct water onto the fire from above. As of the latest updates, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Elsewhere, a standoff following a chase involving a stolen semi-truck resulted in major disruptions on northbound I-205 near Vancouver. The incident began earlier today and concluded with two individuals taken into custody. The names of the driver and passenger remain undisclosed at this time. Detailed information was provided by kptv.com, stating that the chase was conducted at the speed limit up until the standoff near Exit 30 for State Route 500.
Authorities managed to successfully resolve the situation by late morning. "Just after 11:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said the driver and passenger were taken into custody," according to the report. Following the arrest, I-205 was quickly reopened before noon, restoring traffic flow.
