A heated argument on a Sherman Heights street corner escalated into a violent stabbing yesterday, as reported by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The altercation, which occurred at the intersection of 25th Street and Imperial Avenue, left one man with serious injuries.

According to the SDPD Watch Commander's Log, the incident involved a 50-year-old male victim and a 37-year-old male suspect. Following a verbal disagreement, the suspect attempted to walk away but was assaulted by the victim from behind. The suspect responded by pulling a knife and repeatedly slashing at the individual, who attempted to punch him from behind.

The suspect escaped the scene momentarily but was later apprehended by police at 13th Street and National Avenue. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to the local hospital. His injuries included a five-inch laceration to the right side of his face, a punctured abdomen, and a three-inch gash to his left knee. Thankfully, the wounds were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Officer Buttle of the SDPD, who is listed as the Watch Commander on the case, announced that the Central Division will be taking over to investigate the stabbing thoroughly. The police are actively encouraging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and to boldly assist in providing additional information.
